Choosing the right rug size makes all the difference in how a room feels. Use this guide to find the best fit for your space.
A large or oversized rug (2.4m x 3.3m and up) works best under your main seating area, ideally with at least the front legs of your sofas and chairs resting on the rug.
Choose a rug wide enough to extend beyond the sides and foot of the bed, typically 2m x 3m or larger for queen and king beds, so it frames the bed rather than looking like a small mat underneath it.
Pick a rug large enough that all chairs stay on the rug even when pulled out, usually at least 60-70cm wider than your table on each side.
Runner rugs are ideal for hallways and narrow spaces, leaving a small border of flooring visible on each side.
Small rugs (under 1.5m x 2m) suit entryways, bedside spaces, or layering over larger rugs and flooring.
